I started teaching in Chino Valley before there were any stop lights on the highway, before there was a Sonic and the Iron Horse Restaurant was the place to go! I taught second grade, but the elementary school was on the highway. In 1982 the elementary grades were moved to Del Rio and wonderful things kept happening to Chino Valley.

My name is Rose Eldredge and my 30 plus year teaching career with the Chino Valley School District has seen lots of changes. Soon after Del Rio was awarded a grant to bring technology to the district, Heritage Middle School was built. Not long after that parents and teachers decided to build the High School. Oh and then the town needed another elementary school and Territorial was built.

My family built our home in Chino Valley. My husband, Bruce, taught at Del Rio and later at HMS. Our daughter graduated from CV High School and graduated from U of A in Tucson. Bruce left education to start his own successful business in Chino.

I love to teach, read, and garden. Although the past few years I seem to raise more weeds than veggies. I have a small flock of chickens and a yard dog named Chuck. At Del Rio I teach 4th grade, am one of the sponsors of Student Council and work with the PTO. I think one of the best decisions I ever made was to live and work in Chino Valley!
